Online Therapy

When possible, we prioritize placing in-person providers.  When having an in-person provider isn’t an option, TheraPeds offers fully remote and hybrid services to ensure your students receive the support they need in the best way available.

Online therapy, also known as virtual therapy, teletherapy, virtual teletherapy, or telemedicine, is a modern form of traditional therapy that gives individuals the care they need exactly when they need it. Research shows that online therapy can be just as effective as in-person therapy.

For some families, children, and students, online therapy is the best option; it also allows those who may not be able to access traditional services for various reasons to still receive the care they need. It also helps with the shortage of qualified therapists as online therapists can treat individuals in a variety of locations where the right in-person therapist may not be available.

Virtual TheraPeds focuses on supporting the whole child and the whole family. Our services are continually expanding to guarantee that each child receives quality care and tailored support to optimize their unique growth and development.

Benefits of Online Therapy

Remote services provide access to therapy for students who might otherwise have medical or health restrictions, location or time constraints, or have IEP-required services that are unavailable to them. Online therapy services have been shown to be as effective as face-to-face in a variety of settings with a variety of disabilities.

Equipment Needed

With Internet access and free video conferencing software, we can visit your home, clinic, or classroom virtually. On your end, you need:

  • A computer with a reliable Internet connection, speakers, and microphone
  • A built-in or external webcam (external works best for Physical Therapy)
  • Access to materials:  paper, notebook, pencils, scissors, glue, tape, markers, crayons, dry erase boards, books, and more as needed
  • An adult or caregiver who can provide support with materials, task completion, or technical support when needed
  • Space for the student(s) to move around and be seen on the camera when needed

Licensed Therapists

Only a state-licensed Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, or Physical Therapist can provide services in your state. Our therapists are all licensed in the state of Colorado and are eligible for licensure in other states. Our therapists are also nationally certified by NBCOT (OTs), ASHA (SLPs), and APTA (PTs).
